What is the electronic office?

  • Basic concepts

The electronic office is a virtual office that the Ministry of Labour and Immigration has launched on the Internet to address the right of citizens to interact with the Administration by electronic means, as established by Law 11/2007.

  • Basics

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are revolutionizing the way people and businesses communicate with each other and with Public Administrations. In this context, Public Administrations, committed to the principle of effectiveness set out in Article 103 of the Spanish Constitution, are progressively adapting to these changes in order to offer citizens the advantages and possibilities of this new form of communication.

  • Advantages of using the electronic office

ICT allow the administration to be brought closer to citizens, so that, from their own home or workplace, they can carry out the same procedure they used to do in person, saving travel and waiting times. In addition, the electronic office allows you to use the applications available 365 days a year 24 hours a day. It should be borne in mind that receipt on non-working days will be deemed to have taken place on the first following working day.

  • Security of the electronic office

Since your arrival at the electronic office of the Ministry of Labour and Immigration you are browsing on a secure connection (all the information between you and the electronic office travels "encrypted" over the Internet). In addition, access by electronic certificates guarantees the identity of the person.
